Although Japanese industries are exposed in the worldwide competition, automotive, steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic films, machine tools, and IT related products/facilities maintain their superiority. One of the reasons is the excellent technology of multifunctional surface treatment. It is a top priority for METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) as one of basic industrial technologies.
Many multifunctional surface treatment technologies, including industrial chrome, nickel, nickel alloy plating, thermal spray of various metals/ceramics, fluoride coatings, physical/chemical vacuum deposition, and various grinding/polishing methods are indispensable peripheral technologies for the industrial machinery, supporting the high quality performance, productivity, and economy of the invisible core parts of them.
